basketball team- Maccabi Nadav Karmiel

Netta Baeloha

Maccabi “Nadav” Karmiel was established by the Baeloha family in 2005 with the purpose of commemorating and honoring Nadav Baeloha, who served in SF unit Egoz and was killed in action in the Second Lebanon War.
Nadav was very passionate about sport and used to share his love for basketball since he was 6 years old when he joined his father Eliphaz and accompanied him to many games.
Later in his life, Nadav was also selected to participate in the prestigious Wingate Institute basketball academy for outstanding basketball players.
Nadav had a very close and speciation relationship with his father, and they both dreamed that one day can jointly play in the same team. Unfortunately, this dream never came true as Nadav died just a few months before he was supposed to discharge from the IDF.
A basketball player-coach Eliphaz decided to combine Nadav’s memory with his strong desire to strengthen Karmiel’s basketball team by integrating local basketball players and engaging in a community activity.

Maccabi “Nadav” Karmiel

Maccabi “Nadav” Karmiel encompasses excellent players from all walks of life. Players come from different backgrounds different ages, and all religions. Even though Nadav is not physically with us, Maccabi “Nadav” assures his spirit is indeed present. Determination, comradeship, and immense will power is just part of the values that Nadav and Maccabi “Nadav” share.
Maccabi “Nadav” Karmiel just recently qualified to Israel’s 3rd division basketball league.
While Maccabi “Nadav” Karmiel is gearing up for the beginning of the season it appears that operating costs are higher than we can afford. The team is lack of any sponsorship and we, therefore, asking you to help us keep the team running and keep carrying Nadav’s spirit.
We intend to use the donations and buy basketball gear, pay league fees, transportation costs and arrange numerous community events during the year to allow for the special connection between the team and its supporters to prevail.
Maccabi “Nadav” Karmiel serves as a home for basketball payers from Karmiel and the region. This special connection and the unique togetherness have been driving the team’s success in recent years.

During the 2019 season, Maccabi “Nadav” Karmiel had a remarkable season with 20 wins and only 2 losses and astonishingly qualified to Israel’s 3rd division basketball league.
In the past year, Maccabi “Nadav” has arranged several events with the purpose of commemorating Nadav. Two notable events are the exhibition game against Maccabi Karmiel and the upcoming friendly game against Hapoel Holon – one of Israel’s most famous basketball team which will take place in Chanukah 2019.
We are excited to invite you to join Nadav’s friends and support this project so we can keep Nadav’s light illuminating upon us, and make sure his memory remains present. We want to keep playing and celebrating Nadav and any contribution will certainly help us.
