Bilingual Kindergarten of Evron and Mazra'a, Non profit organization LIVING TOGETHER. A dream of peaceful coexistence turning into realty. On September 2, 2018, the Bilingual Kindergarten of Evron and Mazra'a was opened, with fourteen toddlers, ages two to three, half of whom are Hebrew speakers and half are Arabic speakers. The kindergarten teachers speak both languages, and there are two assistants and two consultants who speak Hebrew and Arabic, too.
The kindergarten is located in a building that was used for offices, and located near all the kindergartens of Kibbutz Evron. Converting the building to a kindergarten was expensive and was financed by donations.
On its first year, the kindergarten is not entitled for grants from the Ministry of Education and the Municipal Authority. The parents pay part of the expanses but in order for the kindergarten to operate through to the end of the year, we need additional 150,000 New Shekels.
We are a group of parents from Kibbutz Evron and the village Mazra'a, who decided to create a bridge between Arabic speaking Israelis and Hebrew speaking Israelis in reaction to the 2015 wave of terrorism and counter reactions in Israel.
Therefore, we had a meeting at a café at Mazra'a village, where we weaved together a dream about coexistence.
One of our ideas was to create a bilingual education system, the first of which is a kindergarten.
We turn to you, requesting you to help us fulfill the dream of a continuous and successful coexistence in the Western Galilee and the whole of Israel.
