Local Call: Your story – our news
With more bloggers, more news, more exclusive investigations, more struggles for justice and more impact – we’re going to make more of Local Call.
For three years now, your stories have been the foundation of our news. For three years, Local Call has been a part of your struggles, part of the change we're all trying to make in Israel-Palestine. Now it is time to broaden the conversation, and let even more people in.
We hope to reach every part of the land we live in, to bring you more and more silenced voices, more stories that have no other platforms on which to be told.
While mainstream media sides with the official narratives of police and government spokespeople, we are there to question, doubt, and bring the truth to light. When voices fighting against occupation and for peace, equality and social justice are silenced – we are there to serve as their loudspeaker.
Local Call is here thanks to you.
We have been able to do everything that we do thanks to the support and partnership of each and every one of our readers. Now we need you more than ever – to take things to the next level.
How are we going to take Local Call to the next level?
In Local Call, the readers and writers set the priorities – entirely bottom up. We want to take those priorities, of the Local Call community, and make them the agenda of society as a whole.
In the past three years, our modestly sized organization, based mostly on volunteers, has successfully created an innovative, challenging and exciting alternative: journalism that is not dependent on corporate or special interests, that tells a different story, and that doesn't shy away from its own principles. Over the past three years, that bottom-up outlet has become home to a large community of people whose only way to get the information and ideas important to them is through Local Call.
In the coming months we will be begin expanding and further professionalizing our operation – and to make that happen we need you to join us.
We'll be adding more layers of content, more challenging ideas, so that we can make your voices heard:
• We will broaden the circle of writers from more diverse backgrounds, geographic locations, and agendas — inviting them to join the conversation.
• We will start taking the site onto the streets, through public discussions, lectures, and events – to take the news, investigations, commentary and political discussions you care about even further.
• We will have more translations, primarily but not exclusively from Arabic, to break the language barrier and bring more marginalized voices to the fore in Hebrew.
• We will hold an array of professional trainings for existing and new writers.
• We will strengthen the scope of legal defense we can offer bloggers, so they can write without fear.
Without your support, this will not happen. With your support, we can make room for everyone.
We have great plans, because we believe that together we can change reality — because Local Call is me, and you, and all of us. Local Call is a community, and together we cannot be ignored. Together we are not afraid, we have a voice – even as the democratic space in Israel is shrinking. Support us now, to broaden the conversation.

Due to logistical limitations and costs, the gifts offered in this campaign are not available outside of Israel-Palestine. Your support will, however, still be highly appreciated, and will have a great impact on our plans to take Local Call to the next level. Thank you for your understanding.
